Abstract

Five years ago, Lake Superior State University established the Engineering House Living/Learning community as one of six academically- focused residential facilities on campus. This focus on pan-engineering excellence was recently strengthened by identifying the Engineering House as the home of the newly-established ESD (Engineering Society of Detroit) student chapter on campus. Engineering House residents receive free membership in ESD, with the obligation to do K-12 outreach to bolster student interest in STEM fields.
