Dr. Felecia McInnis Nave is an assistant professor of chemical engineering at PVAMU and the Principal Investigator on this Project. Nave's research interests include: Culturally responsive epistemology and pedagogy in engineering education and issues impacting the academic success and persistence of African American and women students in STEM disciplines. Carmen Villa Texas A&M University

Carmen Villa is a researcher at the College of Education , and an assistant lecturer in the Hispanic Studies Department at Texas A&M University. She received a B.Sc. degree in computer science engineering from Tec de Monterrey in Mexico City; a D.E.A. in computer science form the INPG in Grenoble, France; and a Pd.D. in educational administration and human resource development from Texas A&M University. Her research interests include underrepresented populations in higher education, cultural practices and their impact on education for Hispanic students.

Helene Cook Texas A&M University

Helene E. Cook is a second year doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program at Texas A&M University. A native of Buffalo, NY Helene completed both her bachelors degree and masters degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Her area of study was psychology with a minor in history. Prior to her enrollment at Texas A&M she worked extensively with individuals with disabilities serving as a Residential Habilitation Aide for two years as well as a Service Coordinator for one year. Helene has been working as a Graduate Research Assistant since December 2007. Her research interests include African Americans and their accessibility to mental health services, early termination, and issues surrounding multicultural validity in counseling and assessment
