parental supervision and wasting time with aimless socializing/e-mail/chats over the Internet. This is done instead of studying, working with peers, working on and identifying common problems they have in their classes, daily activities, homesickness, etc. The author’s observations indicate that most of the students who did not achieve satisfactory results in their classes during the first two terms did not study systematically. In fact, the main item on their agenda of the day was doing e-mails and chats on their computers. They would engage in these activities for hours and sometime for whole weekends.
