Since a ‘captive audience’ was readily accessible, the nine itemswere incorporated into the existing ENGR101 ‘exit’ survey and deployed at the semester’s end.As race/ethnicity questions are immaterial to course curriculum, students were given the optionof completing the survey, referred to as “Family & Communal Obligations”, as extra credit (seeFigure 1 below).
