In addition to being a useful tool for collection developmentpurposes, citation analysis can also provide insights into the developing core literature ofemerging and interdisciplinary fields. Interdisciplinarity is frequently cited as a way to breakdown silos between disciplines and facilitate solutions to real-world problems. In this study,citation analysis was performed on references from PhD and master’s theses written byengineering graduate students affiliated with an interdisciplinary Fuel Cell Research Center(FCRC).
