Research GoalsThe Graduate Student Experience and Motivations survey aims to identify common themes inthe perceptions and graduate school experiences of a diverse population of returning graduatestudents and how their perspectives and experiences compare to those of direct-pathway graduatestudents. This survey aims to improve our understanding of why both groups of students chooseto pursue a PhD, what their experiences during the course of completing the degree are like, andwhat they plan to do upon graduating. Specifically our work is guided by the following questionsfor both returners and
