announced at the following lab session to foster friendly competition and engagement.Several challenges encouraged students to interact directly with faculty, staff, and campusresources to help them get comfortable and connected. For example, students talked with theDirector of Laboratories & Technology Resources to learn about lab safety and equipment. In themachine shop, the technician showed them how to use tools and gave useful tips. Engineeringfaculty were asked to keep their doors open during the lab so students could stop by, askquestions, or take selfies.
