The course covered a broad range of topicsdealing with space mission failure issues stemming from systems engineering perspective to sixcategories that are directly or indirectly related to space mission failures. Since the instructors had developed goodrapport with the students, even before the course started, they considered themselves to beparticipants in the development of the course and provided valuable feedback and suggestionsfor the improvement. The FFT is an efficient algorithm based on thediscrete Fourier transform (DFT) for converting time domain sequences into frequency domainsequences. The results obtained by the FFT are exactly the same results that are obtained by theDFT, not an approximation of the DFT. Whereas the evaluation of an N-point DFT requires N 2complex multiplications and additions, the FFT method (assuming N is power of 2) requires Nlog2 N calculations.
