This paper describes a new design project implemented in Fall 2015 as analternative to a project implemented in Fall 2005.Course History Since 2004In Fall 2004, students worked in teams on a semester-long design project, in which they designeda crane to lift the heaviest weight with the least amount of building material in the crane4.
