specific lesson plans, hands-on activities selected to encourage interest in teachingScience, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). At XXX University four weeksummer program was conducted for teaching STEM activities and lessons plans geared towardsMiddle/High School Teaching. The main focus of the summer enrichment program was toencourage students to enter the STEM teaching profession as Middle/High School teachers.Three primary areas selected to build enthusiasm for teaching STEM were ElectronicsEngineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology and Mathematics.IntroductionThe demand for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is expected togrow at a phenomenal rate as compared to the non-STEM (17% from 2008 to 2018

down. A serial interface was also implemented for the arm controller so the arm could becontrolled from a PC. The students had a mentor from industry to guide them in the design of theirrobot arm and controller. The mentor also evaluated the robot arm and similar designs for use with theRobotic Operating System (ROS) and Moveit software, for possible use of Moveit on future studentprojects.ROS and Moveit bring interesting functions for control of robot arms. The Open Motion PlanningLibrary (OMPL) is used by the Moveit, providing a variety of motion planning algorithms to controlthe students arm. A 3D Camera can be directly used by Moveit to provide obstacle avoidance functionsfor the robot arm. The results of the evaluation of Moveit were

specifically, rather than re-viewing lectures, there may be otheractivities that students could be performing outside of class that would be more beneficial (e.g.,working on programming exercises, summarizing material, etc.). Recent studies on “flipped”delivery have pointed out that online lectures (especially in multiple courses) can requirestudents to spend considerable time outside of classroom that could be spent on other (possiblymore productive) activities13.In our future work in this area, we plan to explore the differences between in-class and onlinelearning more directly by comparing student cohorts in traditional, in-class lectures to those withsupplemental online resources as described in this paper. As well, we plan to investigate

SICK LMS200 Laser Range Finder installed on top and has a360 degree sonar transceiver and bumpers array in the middle and bottom, respectively. Thedemonstrated characteristics of the developed software system indicate an improvement inpicking certain objects located on hazard and unsafe environment where it would be toodangerous to send in a human subject. This real world robotic setup would be an excellent teaching and demonstration tool for studentsin mechatronics and related programs. Specifically, the authors are planning to offer a newintroductory course on robotics in which the software will be taught in the lab. This courseincludes 10 modules in which groups of students will use the developed software to control andnavigate two different

for the usersto plan their tracking system.Tag readability depends on many variables, such as type of tag and antenna, distance from tag toantenna, tag orientation and tag placement. Also interferences with the surroundings due to otherwireless devices might have some effects on tag readability. The major interest in this research isto obtain a foot print depending on the tag readability in 3-D space in real time.EQUIPMENTResearches performed with RFID system requires a specific Antenna, Tag and Receiver. There aretwo types of tags, active and passive tags. Active tags require a continuous source of power. Theyare either connected to a power infrastructure or they use energy from an integrated battery. Onthe other hand, passive tags do not

laboratory with an in-house device measurement andcharacterization capability. In that respect it will be an excellent educational tool. The plans areto introduce new experiments and demonstrations in the Electronics laboratory to enhancestudent learning of automated measurement as well as learning device characterization. Spring2016 will be the first time this system will be introduced. Student response will be collected, evaluated and shared at the ASEE Annual Conference in New Orleans. After the publication of this paper the authors plan to make copies of the run time versionavailable to the public upon request.References:[1] Guvench, M.G., "SPICE Parameter Extraction from Automated Measurement of JFET and MOSFETCharacteristics in the Computer

easy to overlook had to be carefully specified or they may not be fabricatedas originally intended. Ambiguities had to be removed. This level of attention to detail is notoften naturally found in the traditional student population. The students learned to appreciate the ability to fix problems or tweak the performance of theirfluid level probes using software rather than having to remove and replace soldered components.Enhancing the design by changing a few lines of code can become very enticing and almostaddictive. They also learned that not all problems could be fixed in software alone. The impromptu change of plans to include Hardware In the Loop testing was perhaps the mostinteresting topic in the two courses for many students. They

better response ascompared to controlling the reactive power [4].In this paper, a photovoltaic hybrid generation mechanism is studied and simulated. A hybridelectric system provides a greater quality electricity generation since the system is not solelydependent on one type of energy source. Whilst some of these devices may shutdown thealternate source still can deliver the electricity.Case StudyIn order to study power system behavior and operating conditions of different generators, buses, transformers, motors and loads in a system, power analysis and load flow calculations must beperformed. The flow of active and reactive power is known as load flow or power flow. Loadflow is an important tool used by power engineers for planning and

RFID maintains accurateinventory control and also real time product information is available to make decisions. It makesthe supply chain significantly more accurate and improves efficiency and reliability. Also, due toreal-time information is made available for administration, the planning processes can besignificantly improved as
