Goal-Congruity furthercategorizes value into two forms, agency (wealth, prestige, power), and prosocial (working withand helping others, benefitting society). A cross-sectional comparisonbetween data from a prior national survey of freshmen engineering students interested in civilengineering and pilot data from a national survey to senior undergraduate engineering studentswas used to assess students’ belief in climate change, their understanding of climate science, anddesire to address climate change in their careers.
