She received her BS and MS degrees in Chemical Engineering from Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey in 1997 and 2000, respectively, and her Ph.D. in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University (ODU), Norfolk, VA in 2012. She was a Graduate Research Assistant during her MS and Ph.D. studies. She was also a Postdoctoral Fellow at ODU between 2013 and 2014.
