theArtificial Intelligence (AI) workforce in this two-year impact study from Fall 2022 to Fall 2024.Thus, our findings are relevant for optimizing pre-college to college education pipelines to meetworkforce needs in engineering, AI, and the Computer Science (CS) industry. To study the impact of the pre-college AI education program on student progression, we conductedfocus group interviews in Fall 2024, two years after the pre-college program. With thematic analy-sis, we quantify student and program outcomes by synthesizing four themes: social and emotionallearning, self-efficacy, career readiness, and program impact. To formally validate human thematicanalysis, we ask: (RQ1) What methods can validate heuristic thematic analysis for reliable studyof

A keyproject goal was to establish a graduate student association to sustain the student communitypost-funding. As of Fall 2022, retention for Cohort 3 (Fall 2021 entrants) reached 83%.Graduation rates by the fourth year were 100% for Cohort 1 (Fall 2019 entrants) and 86% forCohort 2 (Fall 2020 entrants). These outcomes are comparable to the institutionally reported fall-to-fall retention rate of 86% for master’s students, excluding those who had already completedthe program. Despite recruitment challenges, pandemic impacts, and post-grant sustainabilityconcerns, the project successfully cultivated a supportive

Similarly, a team of two EE, two ME and one PDM would have ascore of 2, 2, and 1 respectively for their programs. This is expressed as mathematical formula inEquation 1.
