with differentskill sets. Considering that students reported improved performance in various aspects, suchas retention, confidence in their knowledge, and discipline, it would be pertinent to includethe faculty perspective. A comparative analysis between classes utilizing mind maps andthose that do not could provide valuable insights from the instructors' standpoint.References[1] S. J. T. Jansen, H. J. F. M. to get an overview of any general patterns among students’ responses. Wylie and Wang used the program’s first summer (2022) as a pilot study to assess howwell the instruments captured the data we were interested in, and how feasible the data collectionprocess was. We aggregated the numerical survey responses and used basic descriptive statisticalmeasures to analyze trends in the data. While not statistically sophisticated, we observedmeasurable differences in responses between the pre-REU survey and the post-REU survey. Webelieve the differences observed in the pilot study responses capture crucial aspects of thestudents’ experiences in the REU. We compared interview responses across students andbetween each student’s pre and post

In the post-COVID period, student responseswere collected using either Catalyst WebQ (2022) or Google Forms (2023). Instructors were notprovided with any survey responses but instead were provided with a list from the researchers ofnames and percentage of questions completed by each student so that grades could be adjustedaccording to the incentive offered to students. All participation was voluntary, and students wereoffered credit regardless of whether they granted consent for their responses to be used in theresearch because institutional IRB required that we not exclude those students who did notconsent

this project included survey responses as part of a larger validated surveymeasuring motivation and attitudes of engineering students (MAE; Benson et al., 2018; O’Haraet al., 2020). Participants were undergraduate engineering students from first year through senioryear (n = 1143; 27% identified as having 1 or more disabilities/73% no disability). Table 1below lists percentages for additional participant demographic information. The survey wasdistributed in the spring semester of 2022-2023 academic year and was administeredelectronically using Qualtrics software. A recording of instructions and link to survey weredistributed within pre-selected courses, one from each program year. Data were de-identified.DISABILITY STATUS AND BELONGINGNESS

services, spaces and amenities, it became clear that students would naturally be exposed tomore of what the university can offer them if the primary partners were working in tandem in thesame space.A series of discussions led to the development of a new master plan for the library (figures 1-2below show a nearly final floor plan, but we anticipate some fine adjustments as this is rolledout). The yellow areas shown in these figures illustrate planned changes from the 2022 floor plan(prior to this collaboration) and aim to remodel about 70,000 ft2 of space.  First floor: As this process began, the main library contained approximately 270,000 bound journals and 500,000 books in the circulating collection. Program and Weekly LunchesThe SUCCESS Scholars program began in the fall term of 2022 at Louisiana Tech Universityand was funded by a $1.5M S-STEM grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Thepurpose of the Program was to increase the success and retention of financially disadvantagedstudents through academic, financial, and social support. Our implementation included thefollowing elements: 1. Blocked engineering, mathematics, science, and communications courses, providing students with increased opportunities for interacting inside and outside the classroom; 2. Additional engineering course meetings to better prepare students for upcoming exams and project evaluations; 3. Supplemental instruction sessions with the

Engineering Undergraduate Curriculum, consisting of141 total credit hours. The SWE program-specific content consists of 9 required courses. Theresults to date are very encouraging. The fall 2015 enrollment is 18 freshman, 5 sophomores, andone junior. We expect a small number of graduates in 2018, with the number growing to 20 or 25per year by 2022. The program goal is to remain a small, high-touch program.1 This statement does not imply that all software engineers should have an engineering background. There are many pathwaysto software engineering, and many different careers with different requirements.2 It is currently accredited under the school’s ABET accreditation. Once there are sufficient graduates, it will be accredited insoftware
