2019, our university Tecnológico de Monterrey, rolled out its new educationalmodel called Tec21 across all programs, including engineering. In this model, the semesterperiods were divided into three periods of 5 weeks each, where subjects from the previouscurriculum, which lasted 18 weeks, were condensed into a 5-week teaching period. Thisapproach was based on entirely focusing students on a thematic area (Fig.1).In the Tec21 curriculum plans [1-5], each thematic block is structured with several moduleson related themes and a challenge (linked project), which must be addressed by developingskills derived from the deployment of the modules. All challenges are linked to real-worldenvironmental problems through Educational Partners (companies

readouts for monitoring pivotal parameters crucial to plant health and maintenance, such assoil moisture, light intensity, and nutrient levels, epitomizing the project's innovative fusion ofbotanical expertise with contemporary engineering solutions. The fabrication of the Thurman Botanical Tapestry entailed meticulous strategic planning andprecise execution. Commencing with the selection of a spectrum of resilient and aestheticallypleasing Aroid plants, the project's structure was meticulously engineered to accommodate thevaried growth habits of these botanical specimens while seamlessly incorporating cutting-edgesensor technologies. These technological enablers played a pivotal role in real-time monitoringof critical environmental parameters

structure" [10]. Lawson attributes this phenomenon to their academic learningprocess, reflecting the cultivation of more refined planning skills than the comparisongroup. The diverse solutions architects create showcase their proficiency in solutiongeneration.Research ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to conduct a pilot test to explore the impact of mind maps on thelearning process of architecture students, who regularly navigate the integration ofconceptual and practical learning. The objectives of the research were (i) to enhance thelearning experience of architecture students and (ii) to facilitate the connection betweenpractical concepts and theoretical knowledge, a common occurrence in architecturalcurriculum. This article details the

integrating BIM and energy modeling in a case study, indicating thathands-on experience with BIM tools can significantly enhance students' confidence andperceptions about SD and construction.Another approach is incorporating BIM tools into the SD curriculum. According to [10], astructured curriculum planning framework is essential to effectively integrating BIM and SDeducation. By incorporating BIM tools into the curriculum, students can gain practicalexperience using BIM for SD analysis, energy modeling, and lifecycle assessments. This hands-on approach allows students to develop critical thinking skills and apply SD principles usingBIM technology. Interactive and simulation-based learning methods have also been explored toenhance the integration of

investigation was able to determine a possible reason. At the time that the course wasscheduled, many students had either a required course or an elective course that occurred at thesame time. Several students expressed their disappointment that they were unable to take thecourse due to time conflicts, and requested that the course be offered again, and soon. This isencouraging to the professor, and work has already begun with program administration toschedule the course in the future to minimize conflicts with other courses taken by students inour programs. The response from students unable to take the course in its initial offering isencouraging, and as such, the course is planned to be offered again next year.To assess the relative success of the

They are listed in several topics such as: Design of Reinforced ConcreteStructures, Design of Structural Steel Elements, Foundation Engineering and Structural EngineeringCapstone Project. We have 28 Civil Engineering Students an 11 Architecture Students. All of the students are between the7th and the 10th semester of their undergraduate studies. The quizzes applied are a part of the evaluation plan

project manual detailing the code required loads and present theircalculations for the analysis and design of steel deck, composite and non-composite slabs, beams,light-weight steel joists, columns, bracing, and connections to meet steel specification criteria forstrength, stiffness, and stability. Students submit bi-weekly assignments that build upon one anotherto create the project manual and at the end of the semester create construction documents that includegeneral notes, typical steel details, framing plans, framing elevations, and enlarged details. In past semesters, students relied on a combination of hand calculations and the structural analysissoftware RISA to analyze and design the structural components of the building.
