, Engineering, and Medicine urged agreater focus on experimental learning to bridge core course silos. ABET also requires studentsto design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and draw conclusions by graduation. However, the packed engineering curriculum challenges additional hands-on lab courses. To address this,we explored an idea to extend learning beyond traditional settings. Inspired by the AmericanChemical Society's guidelines, we aimed to study at-home experiments for connectingexperiments to theories and investigated if students could independently design experiments athome, aligning with the senior chemical engineering laboratory course's objectives. Studentsspent four weeks conducting at-home experiments and self-evaluated their learning

is a Professor at the University of Wuppertal. He researches online and intercultural engineering education. His primary research focuses on the development, introduction, practical use, and educational value of online laboratories (remote, virtual, and cross-reality) and online experimentation in engineering and technical education. In his work, he focuses on developing broader educational strategies for de- signing and using online engineering equipment, putting these into practice, and providing the evidence base for further development efforts. Moreover, Dr. May is developing instructional concepts to bring students into international study contexts to experience intercultural collaboration and develop respective

requiredto assess the nature and scope of impact of active learning on the learning successes of studentsin engineering and science courses. ABET's Criterion 3, Outcome 6, emphasizes thedevelopment of critical thinking skills in graduates. This outcome requires them to design andconduct experiments, analyze and interpret data, and apply engineering judgment to reach well-supported conclusions. While many engineering students demonstrate strong understanding ofengineering systems and the ability to approach problem-solving however most of them fail toharness their ideas into a functional (practical) design. For this reason lab or project activities areoften attached or integrated into engineering courses. Classroom lectures tend to focus more onthe

bolstering the impact of undergraduate STEMlaboratory courses in developing an entrepreneurial mindset in students.Next, we plan to compare courses with and without intentional EM activities to assess thedifference in response for each factor. Similar to our factors, recent studies have shown thatnegatively worded items can often load together even after being reverse-scored and should bepositively worded to align with current best practices [10]. Adopting this approach beforeadministering the survey in the spring semester of 2023 will allow us to examine the possibilityof newly emergent factors, which could address currently missing mindsets present in the EMframework. As this was a small pilot study with the existing instrument, future work

provides enhancedcomprehension of core concepts and practical applications. Using a quantitative method anchoredin pragmatic research philosophy, the efficacy of learning outcomes and practical applicationswere scrutinized. One semester leveraged PCB tools, while the previous semester utilizedconventional techniques. Feedback was garnered from educators and students, with SPSSfacilitating statistical analysis. Additionally, Bidirectional Encoder Representations fromTransformers (BERT) were utilized for sentiment analysis. The comparative study highlights thesuperiority of the PCB method over traditional approaches in digital electronics education forengineering students. Key findings include a 23% higher initial comprehension score (83% forPCB vs

” by adding manyinnovations, we are first collecting data to understand the current impact of our work, contextualizing our future goals and possible techniques with published research, and thendeveloping tools and processes for improvement. One intersection which we believe to be promising is aligning best practices in hands-onteaching with our newly embraced collegewide pedagogy. CEAS adopted UDL, a frameworkthat offers multiple entry points for learners to engage with new knowledge and demonstratetheir gained skills. UDL relies on three pillars: • the Affective Network engages the “why?” of learning, • the Recognition Network engages “what?” and • the Strategic Network engages “how?”These pillars invite students to interact in

approach to problem-solving, innovation, and value creation” [4]. The KEENframework emphasizes three primary components of the entrepreneurial mindset: curiosity, connections, and creating value. Project-based learning in which students are given a specificaudience to understand and design for is one way in which students learn to create value withtheir technical skills. Projects with simulated or real-world applications also provide students theopportunity to practice situational curiosity [5].Effective science communication is particularly necessary in the process of commercializingtechnology. When engineers create goods and services that are to have a societal impact oraddress a need, it is crucial for their success that the value of these

incorporate the goals of this laboratory into earlier courses to better preparestudents for their junior-year laboratory. To provide further context for this course, an example lab assignment is presented in theappendix. This assignment is typical of the assignment for this course in length and expectation.Students are expected to make decisions on how to best complete the assignment including whatcontent to use from previous courses, what instruments to use, how to verify their measurementsand how to justify the validity of their experiments. A main objective of this course is thatstudents will practice problem solving and learn from failure. To facilitate that objective, six labassignments are scaffolded such that students are given more help with
