During a recent ISyE Senior Design class, weobtained self-descriptions from clients who played significant roles in the projects. discusses the impacts of various course assignments and activities that were used toincrease student motivation and learning. The courses selected for the study are Quality Analysisand Design of Experiments courses, which are offered as required courses in the industrialengineering graduate program at the University of New Haven. The assignments and activitiesinclude term project, term paper, homework, in-class exercises, quizzes, exams, library trainingand factory visit.
