The present study is a pilot study intended to evaluate the implementation of selectedinstructional resources and strategies integrated into a chemical engineering laboratory course,where students were required to write bi-weekly technical memos based on the results ofexperimental work.One innovative aspect of this pilot project was the team-taught approach to instruction. Dr. Burian’s professional career spans more than 20 years during which he has worked as a de- sign engineer, as a Visiting Professor at Los Alamos National Laboratory, as a Professor at the University of Arkansas and the University of Utah, and as the Chief Water Consultant of an international engineer- ing and sustainability consulting firm he co-founded.
