were needed that not only obliterated conventional disciplinary boundaries but, moreimportantly, also helped cultivate a mind-set that facilitated voluntary transitioning betweenthinking like an engineer, a technologist, and a scientist. It may seem heretical, even a littledaring to suggest this, especially because traditional college education cultivates and promotes‘branding’iv. It is, however, envisioned that such a mind-set shall be compatible with anemerging manufacturing environment in which heretofore unfamiliar paradigms shallincreasingly become commonplace and where tolerance for and acceptance of trends that are notcontemporaneousv shall become compelling.
