In addition to obtaining a largersample size of responses, methods will be developed to quantitatively analyze open responsesproviding feedback on the effectiveness of the EML project and to what extent students believedtheir background influenced this experience. We will additionally report a consensus on studentrecommendations for programs or resources that the university should supply to further supportHRMs. This work underscores the importance of incorporating EML material for HRM groupsand further diagnoses the presence of content exclusivity in EML-based projects.References[1] C. correspondingmental effort – in response to the new legal landscape.DiscussionAs described above, we found that participants anticipate impacts from the new legal landscapethat will affect all of the sectors of Kania et al.’s model, suggesting something of the scope of theimpact of new DEI laws and the SCOTUS decision. Overall, there were more comments andconcerns from participants related to structural changes than to relational or to transformativechanges. It was also the case that some of participants’ observations suggest some porousness in theborders of the Kania et al. model. For example, participants viewed guidance from theirinstitution’s office of general counsel as a resource, but in doing so, that office becomes a strongerseat of power, therefore

Underrepresented Minorities in Aerospace EngineeringAbstractTraditionally, aerospace engineering disciplines are substantially underrepresented by AfricanAmerican, Hispanic, and female students. For example, Black and Hispanic American studentscollectively earn only 10.6%, 8.4%, and 6.4% of the BS, MS, and Ph.D.’s in aerospaceengineering, respectively. They are among the lowest percentages of all major engineeringdisciplines, leading to underutilization of the talent pool in the aerospace industry. 1 To tackle thisconcern, a multi-institution coalition sponsored by NASA is established to engageunderrepresented minorities in coordinated educational and professional development activities, including senior design projects, undergraduate research experiences

At the end of the process, participants develop an actionplan to address their concerns about the study’s topic and disseminate the photographs tocommunity stakeholders [12]. Photovoice has been widely used in public health [13], but it isbecoming a popular research strategy in engineering [14]–[17].The objective of this pilot study was to explore the experiences of Black undergraduateengineering students using photovoice. The research questions guiding this work were: 1) What does it mean to be a Black student at the University of Florida? 2) What does it mean to be a Black engineering student

Henoted that he “really like[s] knowledge”, yet one can argue from the larger corpus of data that heis primarily interested in knowledge that leads to action. While Malik’s leadership aptitude was brought with him to the internship, the internshipcertainly foregrounded this dimension to his personality. On one occasion, I was talking withMalik and one other participant in the course of reviewing project progress. Malik referred to theother student as a “nerd”. At that point, I chose to ask Malik whether he himself identified as
