Despite interest in this area, research still needs toinvestigate how to design and implement technology-rich training opportunities that motivateyouth from diverse backgrounds to participate in meaningful technical work and what the impactof such experiences is.In this study, we collaborated with a community partner that provides technology-rich learningexperiences for youth to set up an afterschool professional training program involving running a3D printshop for youth focused on digital modeling and fabrication. Over two years, two cohortsof youth (a total of 12 participants) participated in the project and worked at the 3D printshop attasks that

needs to be made before it can occur. Forbattery-less pacemakers, much research is also needed to make it into a viable and affordable aswell as healthy option for patients. More research is also needed for the best anchoring and wayto utilize the TENG to its full potential. Engineers and healthcare professionals should also worktogether to find more viable designs and project ideas for TENG implantables. Research ofbiodegrading materials is needed to prevent biodegradable TENG powered pacemakers fromdegrading too fast. While the future for triboelectric nanogenerator powered pacemakers is hugedue to its lack of the downsides of the traditional lithium powered implantable, all of it comesdown to more research. For now, battery powered

the classroom. Thepush to integrate microelectronics in pre-college education spaces has come about due to therising desire and focus of bringing microchip manufacturing back to the United States. As part ofthe CHIPS Act, the U.S. federal government set aside a significant amount of money for researchon developing trusted and assured microelectronics, as well as providing an infrastructure formajor microelectronics workforce development projects [1]. This was driven by a shortage inmicrochip manufacturing ability within the U.S. and the desire to build the capacity for chipdevelopment and manufacturing across the country. Due to this growing pressure to integratemicroelectronics content and contexts in the classroom, teachers are now being

The technology sectorremains a key driver of this expansion, fueled by advancements and the demand for innovationacross industries. Therefore, in response to the growing need for a larger and more diverse poolof STEM professionals—including educators, researchers, and practitioners—governments andeducational institutions continue to prioritize STEM education [2]. Data from the NationalCenter for Education Statistics (NCES) highlights a 15% increase in STEM major enrollmentover the past five years, with 2024 showing a notable rise in

The main takeaway from thisinitial study is a need to address the researcher’s own assumption that looking for “untraditional”expressions of engineering within the participant’s art is limited only to a similarly “traditional”form of diversity. The researchers continue this project to expand the answer to who can be anengineer and will analyze the rest of the camps that were run in the summer of 2023, hoping tocontinue to see this positive trend. This method can inspire a lifelonginterest in STEM for students.IntroductionThe acronym STEM refers to four different technical subject areas: Science, Technology,Engineering and Mathematics [1]. Individuals working in STEM-related careers have beencredited with creating some of the most important contributions to societal advancement [2].Therefore, there will be a need for a substantial number of STEM professionals in the future. This demand has been reflected in future employment projections. The Bureau of LaborStatistics estimates that the total employment in STEM occupations will grow 10.8% between2022 and 2032. This figure far outpaces the overall employment growth rate of
