University. His scholarly interests span computing education research, information technology for teaching and learning, and software engineering. Prior to coming to Drexel, Dr. Hislop spent eighteen years working in government and industry where his efforts included software development and support, technology planning and evaluation, and development and delivery of technical education.Dr. Sarah Monisha Pulimood, The College of New Jersey S. Monisha Pulimood is on the faculty of the Department of Computer Science at The College of New Jersey. She has been successfully incorporating immersive learning experiences and multidisciplinary collaborative projects into her courses for several years; has published on undergraduate

(specific tasks and deliverables are discussedin the next paragraphs). Therefore, teams carry out design, implementation, and testing in a muchsmaller scale than requirements analysis, as design, implementation, and testing are the focus ofother courses. The team project deliverables are shown in Table 2. Student teams receive fewer points forcompleting early deliverables such as finding a client and submitting their proposal (3%), andmore points for advance deliverables such as SRS and Test Plan (9%). A large part of the projectgrade (60%) comes from the final deliverables and presentation at the end of the semester.Table 2. Project Deliverables and timeline Deliverable Timeline

softwareengineering curricula offered at the new La Salle University in Arequipa, Peru. The University’sinauguration took place on March 2012. As part of the new SWE program’s assessment, LaSalle University proposed a special software engineering 2014 winter program: SoftwareArchitecture and Computer Gaming Design. These two classes were a good medium for averification of the knowledge in the software engineering academic community (current SWEstudents, current SWE professors, alumni, and individual software developers). Page 26.1387.3The 2014 winter program was the result of three-year planning and collaboration effortsmanaged primarily by the SPSU and La

end, our courseallows students to gain significant experience in the use of tools, allowing the students to beadaptable to using new tools they encounter. To allow students to make meaningful experiments with tools supporting SECs in the labclasses, the lectures of our course provide the SE context within which these SECs live. In thefollowing we discuss four principles underlying these lectures.3.1 Learning SECs in the overall context of software lifecycle modelsFundamental to SE is the notion of the software lifecycle (SLC). The SLC divides softwaredevelopment into distinct phases with the intent of supporting planning, management, deployment, and maintenance of software products. The selected SECs belong to one or more
