Engineering students in an academic setting do not have the environment, theresponsibilities, the demands or the interactions with other members of an engineering team,nor do they face the real-life situations and challenges that a practicing engineer faces everyday. recent research focuses on engineering education and learning sciences with a focus on how to engage students better to prepare their minds for the future. Her other research interests include empirical studies to assess impact of good supply chain practices such as coordinated decision making in stochastic supply chains, handling supply chains during times of crisis and optimizing global supply chains on the financial health of a company. Mark holds a Master’s in Career and Technical Education (Highest Distinction) from Ferris State University, and a Bachelor’s in Workforce Education and Development (Summa Cum Laude) from Southern Illinois University. Mark is a retired Chief Electronics Technician (Submarines) and served and taught as part of the Navy’s Nuclear Power Program.
