The focus grouppresents a more natural environment than that of an individual interview because participants areinfluencing and influenced by others, just as they are in real life (Krueger, 1994). After Ms. Irvin completed the actual oral history interview, I assisted in transcribing the oral history interviews and organizing all the components for the IRB packets.
