it for support, with a cutout for thebarrier. Additionally, several 3D-printed braces were used to support the drivetrain. Figure 6: Assembled Drivetrain To ensure that the robot would be able to withstand competition, simulation tool inSolidWorks was used to analyze the structural integrity of the drivetrain. The drivetrain platewas tested by simulating the robot crashing into a wall. The final robot weighed 16.5 pounds, soassuming it was moving its top speed of 7 ft/s and came to a full stop in half a second, it wouldexperience a force of 7.18 pounds. The force was applied to the front face of the plate, and therear face was fixed. This was done to generate the most extreme examples of stress

on this positive interest from students, a committee of faculty who taught in math andsciences was convened to develop the program. Because of the institution’s historical strengths inthe sciences, the committee recommended that the institution offer a B. S. in EngineeringScience, which was subject to the same ABET criteria as B.S. programs in Engineering andEngineering Physics.[7] It was also believed that the program named Engineering Sciencewould be better accepted at a liberal arts institution where a degree such as engineering might beviewed by some as a strictly vocational major. The intent of the degree to equip students with abroad and general engineering background also reflected key principles of the liberal artsapproach. The

By farthe most commonly mentioned reason was being unsure which classes would transfer from 2-yearto 4-year colleges, and understanding what the transfer prerequisites were. Some studentsmentioned that they attended multiple 2-year colleges and had greater difficulty figuring out whatclasses would and would not count toward their 4-year degree.A majority of post-transfer students (68%) reported having an

For instance, in college, students will most likely be expected to worktogether in group projects, providing an opportunity for them to exercise their communicationskills. Even outside of school, employees may be expected to work in teams to completeprojects. Teamwork is an extremely important quality that is often made commonplace in many,if not all, collaborative environments as it can result in effective collaboration betweensubordinates due to the presence and flow of diverse ideas and perspectives. Since I, similar tomany others, was able to develop these skills through the FIRST program(s), I am now able toexercise these skills in practically

integration about 1906.During the 1700’s, developments in mathematical theory were dominated by Leonhard Euler.Euler had more mathematical insight, made more mathematical discoveries and had moremathematical fun than anyone else either before or since except maybe Erdos. However, theviews of Euler on the nature of mathematics differed sharply from the views of the nineteenthcentury mathematicians. In fact, he understood a function to be in the constellation of ideasregarding equations in two variables, curves and tables. To quote David M. Bressoud4: … to the mathematicians before 1807, functions were polynomials, roots, powers, and logarithms; trigonometric functions and their inverses; and whatever could be built up by addition
