This study reports the resultsof a university-based professional development intervention for school counselors, whereparticipants engaged in training in academic preparation for engineering study, outreachopportunities, bridge programs, as well as the variety of engineering disciplines accessible tostudents. have been shown to be a key predictor of success in science,technology, engineering, and math fields. Past research has revealed that women andunderrepresented minorities tend to lag behind in spatial visual abilities, however, research hasalso shown that these skills can be improved with guided practice. This study seeks to examinewhether 3D printed aids help spatial visual retention in 6​th​ graders. A modified Purdue spatialvisualization test was used as the assessment standard. Students’ mental rotation abilities wereassessed before and after the 3D printed aids were administered. A+. My favorite lab course!! This lab was definitely the most enjoyable course I have ever taken. If you don’t have fun in this class, you picked the wrong major!Conclusions:Five examples of design projects incorporating various technologies and off-the-shelf parts werecreated to better prepare students to meet the challenges of the capstone design. The results ofassessment indicate that these projects are very effective at doing this. A flipped class approach wasadopted in an introductory computer aided design and drafting course. The course is required foragricultural engineering and agricultural engineering technology majors and is a popular electivetaken by physics majors.
