Without those essential parts, the Arduino kit would beincomplete, and therefore unusable. A total of 3 parts: breadboard, Arduino board, and LCDwere to be counted by user services staff members whenever a kit is returned to the library. theChallenge. These students are trained by CPCP to work with an elementary teacher and a team of third tofifth grade students. Training includes an overview of characteristics of eight- to ten-year-olds, tips onhow to work with students (for example: leading them to discoveries and conclusions without telling them“the answer,”), and suggestions for working with teacher-coaches.Once the Challenge commences, mentors meet weekly both with their assigned team and with CPCP staffand fellow mentors. , we deployed a summer faculty development program, beginning in thesummer of 2021. Content included (a) innovation mindset, iterative innovation cycles, goal setting andmeasurement, and cultures that encourage innovation; (b) facilitation of the additive innovation process, (c)active learning methodologies and barriers; (d) diversity in the classroom; and (e) the psychology oflearning. The summer development program was offered to all applicants who submitted pedagogicalinnovation proposals. Six workshop classes were offered and facilitated by the grant team, as well as fouroptional Q&A sessions. The development program is designed to provide formal skills in innovation–skillsthat might be intuitive in research for many faculty–so the
