in the technical details of the solu-tion process. In order to familiarize engineering educators with the most widely used pack-ages and to assist in the selection of the most beneficial packages to be used in corecourses in the chemical engineering curriculum, we have assembled a set of tenbenchmark problems. This problem set was utilized in conjunction with an ASEESummer School for Chemical Engineering Faculty which was held in Snowbird, UTin August of 1997. This paper will give a general overview of the benchmark problems that havebeen formulated and will identify the mathematical software packages that wereused in the problem solution comparisons. To improve the projects, students suggested that they shouldinclude calculations in addition to research. Students also need to feel that the subject matter isworth their time since the engineering curriculum is heavy as it is. Explaining to students whysocial justice topics in engineering is important for this reason. In addition, students might feeluncomfortable discussing their opinions on different conflict matters with their peers. During the pilot year, > 85% of participantsexhibited perfect Discovery attendance; these students demonstrated absence for ~ 10% of classes intheir school environment.
