 objectives, which are inspired by the experiences of our first author.‐ After that, we will share a similar trajectory to that of the first author through PreCollegeprograms into undergraduate education. The University of Tennessee Tickle College of Engineering (UTK‐TCE) has had several precollege summer programs targeted towards middle and high school students, one of them specifically for women. We believe that, because PreCollege is a critical element in the pathway for engineering, it is important to highlight our success here – especially as it relates to our first author.‐ Finally, we will introduce our pilot study, and the results from it, before showing the future directions we will take with our larger study that rolled out in September
