Sophomorematerials engineering students performed, analyzed, and compared results from both a traditionaltensile test of metals and a molecular dynamics simulation tensile test of a nanowire. All course material was organized into lecture/flippedclassroom pairings. Lecture time was used to explain and introduce new concepts, with limitedproblem solving.
