Several students talked about their own beliefs about students’innate capabilities, while others stated that they perceived faculty to have this belief, with theimplication that some students were more suited to engineering and computer science thanothers. If tutors are not vigilant, there can be low requirements forproblem solving, rendering the resource as little more than a service dedicated tofacilitating homework completion. Under the best circumstances, students are oftenill-equipped to use tutoring as a resource to supplement their learning.
