comics addressed.25-26 Theimpact of understanding was less clear, depending on how the comics were implemented. Smallimprovement was observed in student performance on exams and lab reports for some courses, while otherresults were mixed if the instructor was not directly supportive of the comics being introduced. . Studentsclearly identified the importance of communication for effective results, and the need for strategyto reach goals on time, as the top lessons. Close to that rank were the convenience for leadership(including the impact of various styles, the impact on delaying immediate results, and the benefitof elected leaders based on grounded criteria for selection) and collaborative work. Somestudents also referred to the need for a balanced distribution of work, the impact ofcommunication (or lack of) on feelings and morale, and as contributor to provide an overallunderstanding of the project. students’ perceptions of theconnection between their courses and the impact of the group project on their learning outcomes.Taking an average value of the percentage of students who either “agreed” or “strongly agreed”across the 3 courses surveyed, 86% felt the project assignment helped them learn the coursematerial, 83% felt working in a group helped them learn, and 80% recommended using theproject again in the future. in this design course to be tasked withcreating an educational learning module, our team did not have the benefit of seeing examples ofour type of product in past years. Initially, we were discouraged during ideation due to the lackof previous examples. Many academic papers discuss the issues in engineering education withoutimplementing change. have been pre-disposed to engaging the psychomotor domain, and thus, we cannot necessarily claim the revisedcourse structure is the singular factor that impacted the students experience.Students in both classes experienced “connection” and "self-actualization". This is true in many course-based research experiences and in designs that allow students to find and propose anexperimental design.
