She received her B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and her Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Prior to her appointment at Western New England University, she was a Senior Staff Fellow at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health in Morgantown, West Virginia

numbers of participants represented approximately 74% and 52% of theCE 251 students and the MCRO 224 students enrolled in these classes during a full academic year,respectively. Teaching and learning materials developed for the implementation of the curricularintervention included lecture content; compilation of relevant regulations and context for thepolicy issue selected; biological experimental protocols; methane gas generation data associatedwith different organic waste diversion scenarios; and homework and laboratory assignments. Thematerials developed provided contemporary updates to the curricula, while maintaining the sameworkload and content of the courses impacted.The CE 251 students performed the regression analysis step-by-step under

Her areas of technical expertise and interests include distributed energy generation, combustion, heat transfer and fluid dynamics. She worked in the Fire Sciences Division of the Building and Fire Research Laboratory at the National Institute of Standards and Technology from 1993 to 2000. Dr. Womeldorf earned her Sc.B. et A.B. in Mechanical Engineering and English and American Literature from Brown University, her Masters of Science in Oceanographic Engineering from
