Further, thefinancial and personal costs of whistle-blowing can be staggering.3 One aspect of whistle-blowing that has not been covered well is the negativeconsequences that may result from filing a wrongful-termination lawsuit claiming whistle-blowerstatus. Coyle received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University and Ph.D. in Mechan- ical Engineering from Florida State University with a concentration in Dynamics and Controls. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Intelligent Systems, Control and Robotics (CISCOR) before join- ing Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University as an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering in 2011.
