Time spent performing assessment, particularly collecting assessment information from students, is often seen as antithetical to more learning oriented activities such as lecture and project work. Assessment can be part of a good learning experience, but such benefits do not come without effort. Having students answer large

The overall goal of the research is to explore the relationshipbetween different types of learning support (provided by faculty, teaching assistants (TAs), andpeers) and various aspects of engagement at the course level, encompassing both behavioral andemotional dimensions, across diverse learning environments including traditional and remotesettings [7]. The survey used to support this research incorporated several short-answer questionsto

As shown in Figure 6, along with Introduction to Engineering 1 (just Introduction toEngineering in this case), students must take the Engineering Graphics course in their first term.Peculiarly, the Engineering Graphics course has a Calculus 1 corequisite as well. The sequencecontinues with the equivalent of Introduction to Engineering 2 (Introduction to EngineeringDesign here), which is followed by another design course with project management embeddedwithin the offering. This is one example of our dataset's more complicated introductoryengineering course prerequisite chains, which has an overall structural complexity of 21. Notethat removing the potentially

students often struggle to socially integrate into their new campuses, and so eitherover-prioritize social experiences (by “scheduling in” time at university-sponsoredco-curriculars) or entirely de-prioritize them due to a perception that failure is likely [22]. Therelationship seen here is likely the latter: transfer students over-prioritizing social activities, which causes them to suffer academically [23].ConclusionsIn this project, the goal was to compare the social networks of lateral and vertical transferstudents, and determine if there is a correlation between social networks and transfer shock. Toachieve this goal, a survey was created and distributed to undergraduate engineering students at amid-sized Mid-Atlantic university that included

Infographics in assessments can further be expanded topromote the deeper transfer of skills to the other courses. For instance, pre-service science teachersmay be required to embody infographics in their microteaching activities. Another course-basedapproach would be to devise specific courses on infographics and, after fulfilling prerequisites, encourage all the teachers to take them. So, in this way, both the senior and future candidates inthe program of study can benefit from advancements, regardless of

You are placed in the middle of difficult situations and are expected to handle them. You have a bigger understanding of the problems of the department and because of that you end up doing more things like mentoring and supporting other students that are not even yours. You must also navigate this promotion and/or tenure process, and still be a mother. Now add to that being a mother of a SLD child and there is this skewed judgment about you. For some, you stop being serious enough to do academic work. It's double standard. It's a
