The scales in the ASE are well established and have been refinedbased on multiple waves of data collection using college students, internal reliability and factoranalyses, and correlations with academic performance.Task Value: Task value was also measured using items from Pintrich’s Motivated Strategies forLearning Questionnaire4-6. In this study, task value was conceptualized as students' perception ofhow interesting, important, or useful tasks in their engineering major and program are, includingthe importance and utility of corresponding course material.
