Calculus pro-grams across the United States the MAA concluded that the Calculus student’s attitude to-wards mathematics is critical since this can impact career choices. They found that on aver-age, student attitudes toward mathematics declined from beginning to end of their first collegeCalculus course and that the students’ confidence in their mathematical abilities dropped al-most a half of a point on a six-point scale.
