bifurcated based upon advisory board (a) activity and (b) strength. As can beseen in Figure 1, of the many reasons for having an advisory board, faculty / studentengagement, academic support, and research support are important hallmarks of active advisoryboards. Of these, research support is also a hallmark of strong advisory boards. While the datasuggest that industry engagement may also be an important hallmark of active and strongadvisory boards, this requires further investigation. Notably, these three motivations for anadvisory board are those that are student-centric. A conclusion then is that active boards, and tosome extent strong boards, are those that have a strong desire to support students, and are morelikely to be student-centric than
decoupling from economic growth, human centered design[14], the history of the UN and Sustainable Development Goals, the overlap of civil andbioengineering applications to HE projects, and student self-awareness.A Humanitarian Engineering makerspace has also been developed at OSU over the past fouryears and serves as the site of the SP23 Introduction to Humanitarian Engineering lab course. This allows for more hands-on experience for the students and access to equipment andexperimental designs used for undergraduate research.Transferrable Lessons LearnedTransferable learnings from this experience are how to a) collectively identify the vision andstudent outcomes for a program that spans departments and institutions and b) structure ascaffolded minor

Arriving 5 minutes after the start of class or leaving before the end of class will be considered being absent. b) Missing three (3) assignment sets (include Wiley Plus Homework sets, other assignment sets, take home quizzes, etc.). Attempting less than 75% of problems in each problem set, is considered missed assignment in this policy. The Instructor-Initiated Drop Policy is in effect through the last day that a student may drop themselves from the course (October 24th for the fall 2022). Students will receive one courtesy warning when approaching the absence/missed assignment limits. Notification will be sent via Automated Student Access

desired value (1.0). In termsof overall score, this group is followed by students who pass the courses in regular semesters. In this sense, it should be noted that intensive remedial courses in the summer can be takennot only by students who fail a course during the regular semester, but also by those whowish to accelerate their degree progress. By doing so, they gain an advantage over those whodo not accelerate in the same manner during the summer.DiscussionThis research aimed to discover whether there are significant differences in the rate of degreeprogress and timely graduation between students who: a) take remedial courses and pass; b)do not take remedial courses and are left with a failing grade; and c) pass courses duringregular semesters

If I show up and I actas my authentic self, which is sort of a little bold and assertive, I don't get to be called a bold, assertive leader. I get to be called other words that start with B. There's this complicated thingthat both women and women of color face – it’s a bind in the way we're perceived and thestereotypes that get assigned to us. pure aluminum ingots were purchasedand pre-melted by the lab technician. Students used Chvorinov’s rule1 to estimate thealuminum’s solidification time: ts = B (V / A)nwhere ts is solidification time in minutes, V is volume of casting, A is surface area ofcasting, and B is mold constant (assumed to be B=16 min/in2 in this lab). After the castparts were de-molded and cooled, the students checked part surfaces for shrinkage.
