Abstract

The establishment of a design and innovation center to promote industry-sponsored applied research is described in this paper. The center’s space was designed to facilitate cross-functional team collaboration. The facility serves multiple purposes, such as real world experiential learning by students, which fosters innovation and entrepreneurship, and serves local business and industry to promote economic development of the region. Examples of industry-sponsored projects that were completed are detailed here.
