Abstract

Construction and Innovation of the Discipline of Mineral Processing Engineering in China University of Mining and Technology Zhao Yue-min, He Ya-qun, Duan Chen-long, Xie Guang-yuan Ye Cui-ling School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, China University of Mining and Technology, Xuzhou, China, 221116 Key Laboratory of Coal Processing and Efficient Utilization, Ministry of Education, Xuzhou, China, 221008Abstract: Taking the technology of the processing and utilization of coal resource and clean coaltechnology as its characteristic, the discipline of mineral processing engineering of ChinaUniversity of Mining and Technology (CUMT) having a development for more than a century, andbeing a national key discipline, and it has formed a passel of world advanced researchachievements and became an important base for the education and scientific research of Chinesemineral processing engineering, and it also has high position and effect in the scientific field of theworld. It entered into the key disciplines of Jiangsu province and the former ministry of coalindustry in 1994, and was qualified to pass the inspection of the outstanding brand discipline ofJiangsu province in 2006, as well as was selected as the national key discipline and the constructionpoint of the national special discipline in 2007. In 2008, it was selected as the national teachinggroup. The teaching group seriously explores the innovative teaching reform of construction ofteaching faculty and the major specialized course, such as ,, < Concentration Plant Design>, ,. And a teaching group with high-level teaching facultygradually forms by the teaching reform and specialty construction of DMPE, so as to perfects thecourse development of other disciplines, and improves qualities of teaching faculty. The faculty, laboratory and scientific research conditions of the discipline are introduced, and the personneltraining scheme of the subject, the courses system and student criterion are also discussed in thepaper. Recently, the discipline of CUMT focuses on the practice of innovation teaching of thecollege students and construction of engineering ability development. A series of executions forrealizing the objectives are also introduced.Key words: engineering practice; educational reform; mineral processing engineeringAcknowledgment: This work is support by the project of the construction point of the national special discipline, the project of the national teaching group and the China Education Ministry Key Lab Open Project(CPEUKF08-08).
