AB  - In today’s competitive environment with globalization and GATS (Global Agreement on Trade in Service) drive for quality becomes an important slogan for the all the countries. The increase in the number of private institutions, mismatch in teachers-students ratio, less percentage of faculties with Ph.D., limited reliable information resources, low research outcomes and limited financial resources are the main challenges faced by the developing countries. The inadequate teaching professionals, poor physical & library resources, lack of technology support, inefficient monitoring systems, poor parental engagement, disproportionate budget and leakage of financial transfers allows a low level of accountability in higher education. The Government policies and its approach towards the programme development and planning hold a great impact on the quality of education. This paper discusses the issues in the quality of education in developing countries and the measures were taken in assuring its standards. The comparative study on different models of quality assurances and criteria’s adopted by the countries helps to highlight the best globalization trends.
