AB  - Introduction to chemical engineering at our institution has gone under development the past few years. The style of the course went from lecture based to hands on activities over several iterations. Based on student input and feedback the activities in this course have gone under transformation as well. This study looks at how to incorporate prototyping activities into a first year course. The activities engage students’ curiosity and connection to what chemical engineers do in the real world. The goal is that this new style of the chemical engineering module will better engage students with a modern twist and give insight to what chemical engineers do beyond graduation.
