It is difficult to imagine that the teachers are not passing this viewpoint on totheir students.It is revealing to look at how engineering is viewed from the perspective of girls and the peoplewho influence them – teachers, school counselors, parents, peers, and the media. A recent studyby the Extraordinary Women Engineers Project (2005)3 indicates that these groups simply do notunderstand what a career in engineering involves.
