In this study, we integrated the microlearning instructional approach into CIT 21400to help engage students and retain the knowledge gained through the introduction to datamanagement course. CIT 21400 is a required class for all CIT students and a prerequisite for allother courses in the data-management concentration. Figure 1 shows the current plan of study forthe CIT data-management concentration; we draw particular attention to CIT 21400’s position asa prerequisite course for all data-management courses.
