semester.Our results suggest that PLTL in Calculus 1 strongly supports student success, with particularlystrong gains for students typically underrepresented in engineering. While the focus ondeveloping problem-solving skills and engagement with course content is important, intentionalcommunity-building to foster peer connections that lead to mutual academic support appears tobe a crucial aspect of these gains.
