It sets the stage forfuture AEI research, emphasizing the significance of interdisciplinary studies to bring in a trulyhuman-centric and accountable AI paradigm. The research question at hand is: Can GenerativeAI, enriched by cross-disciplinary insights, take an intuitive leap to discern human emotions, driving us towards a more empathetic and ethical AI future?IntroductionThe evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in recent decades has been nothing short ofremarkable, marking a paradigm shift in how machines emulate tasks traditionally performed byhumans. Take, for example, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which has become a paradigm of AI’scapabilities in mimicking human-like conversational skills

We have embedded weblinks to over 50 of the most popular study apps easilyaccessible through a pull-down menu, where favorites appear at the top of the list. context of SQL query feedback? Our research questions aim to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of utilizing a GenerativeAI model to provide semantic error feedback without revealing the correct solution. We targetprecise error detection and insightful feedback to enhance the educational experience by makingit more tailored to each student. The effectiveness of our fine-tuned model was assessed throughcomparative analyses with the outputs from the standard ChatGPT model. This validation processwas crucial in establishing the refined model’s advancement and distinction in providing preciseand contextually appropriate feedback for SQL queries.2 Related WorkResearch on SQL learning has explored various types of errors and student challenges
additional question was added related to ChatGPT,which had risen to prevalence in that time. 5. I think I will need to use ChatGPT at some point in my career. In addition to the MATE 245 class, in the summer of 2023, two undergraduate research studentswere employed to aid in the development of the plastic 3D printing dataset and case study. Thesestudents spent 8 weeks working on developing the 3D printing case study in the Citrine Platform.During this time the students gained more in-depth knowledge of AI and ML through guided andindependent research. The students were invited to provide prompt-based written reflections ontheir understanding and perceptions of ML and how it might be applied to their future careers.Preliminary Findings and
assistants who attend class tohelp with student questions during project work time, and they support the grading ofassignments. For the first two years (2020 and 2021) that we offered the class, the semester was significantlyimpacted by COVID and it was taught as a hybrid class. As a result, the class has changedsignificantly each semester as it shifted from hybrid to in-person and we continued to add andmodify the class activities. This year, we made adjustments to address the availability of artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots, such as ChatGPT [20] and Matlab AI Chat Playground [21]. The biggest impact is on thesimulation module because students can easily generate their code with these AI chatbots. As aresult, we have put less emphasis on
traditionalNLP methods alone [21]. Additionally, as Large Language Models (LLMs) increase and rapidly develop, manyorganizations and researchers compete to create more powerful and advanced GAI models. These new models aim to outperform older versions [22]. GAI models come as applications ortools like ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, and Bard to name a few. One key example is the GPTmodel, which has gone through versions 3, 3.5, and now 4, each with different capabilities [22].When new GPT versions are released, they often gain new features, capabilities, and parameterscompared to previous versions [22]. Also, OpenAI and other research groups constantly work toimprove LLMs and other AI models. This could impact the accuracy of the information in

Therefore, in thisstudy, we chose GPT-4 as our preferred LLM model.Educational Implications in Engineering Easy access to psychological monitoring and measurement is imperative in engineering education due to theunique stressors associated with this field. Studies have shown that the engineering culture, often perceived asmasculine, competitive, and exclusionary, can lead to significant stress and mental health challenges for students, particularly for women and students of color [47]. a different approach. To go along with the stated goalof empowerment, students explore topics of their choosing in much greater detail than can bedone in class. In order to constrain the scope a little, a few choices were given for each deep dive. For example, here are the choices that were given for the second deep dive. • Build an electrocardiogram monitor using discrete op-amps. • Analyze and characterize the non-ideal properties of an op-amp. • Write code to perform backpropagation on a simple neural network. • Write a children’s book on a class topic. • Argue with ChatGPT [8] and find a fundamental misunderstanding in its response. In addition to allowing students to explore interesting topics in
construction industry, even fewer studies haveexplored the impact of predictive analytics using large language models (LLM), such asChatGPT or BERT. Yet, the little existing research also points to the need for reskilling theexisting workforce [17,18], albeit unclear on the broad implications beyond direct developmentand interaction of LLMs. Short- and long-term implications of the use of ChatGPT in allindustries are still unclear [18]. However, due to its analytical nature, it might displace differentpositions than those affected by the use of robotics. Moreover, it is clear through the increased use of information technologies that roles related tothis discipline will start to be part of the building process. For example, the centrality of

sites like ChatGPT. In some courses, due totime demands, students are literally put in the position of having to decide between taking thelonger amount of time to learn the material and doing it quickly, which at time includes usingoutside (disallowed) resources to ‘earn’ a higher grade. The motivation for this paper comes from previous work that shared strategies to take pressure offof formative assessments by lowering the emphasis on getting the right answer. Some approacheshave been taken to motivate students to spend more time on formative assessments and then furtherenhance learning through reflection [1], [2], [3]. Other strategies [4], [5] lean on the benefit offlexible deadlines and regrading policies. It has been shown that struggling

The sentence structure was complex, filled with expressiveadjectives and while there were a lot of words, they often contained a low density of information. We sent out a warning to students that anyone using Chat GPT for the labs reports would be givena zero and no future labs would be accepted unless they convinced the staff they would
