Also,ambassadors discuss the importance of metrology and explain it as a career field. From this dataset, we are able to analyze whether factors such as varying experiencelevels and TA roles (such as discussion mediation versus laboratory instruction) affect differentcomponents of their students’ grades. When analyzing our dataset we sought to answer three basic questions: First, do TAs producestatistically significant differences in the grades of their students when compared to other TAs inthe same course? Second, if there are differences, what components of the assessment processare affected? Morgan State University (MSU) is the only Historically Black College and University(HBCU) offering a structured program in RF (radio frequency) and microwaves at theundergraduate level. Within this program, RF/microwave courses are offered as senior electiveswithin the Electrical Engineering curriculum. However, these courses suffered low enrollment,poor retention and minimal student engagement. Recently, with the award of a National ScienceFoundation (NSF) Course, Curriculum, and Laboratory Improvement Grant, microwaveequipment was purchased to provide minority students with a laboratory environment thatincorporates cooperative learning to increase student interest in RF Microwave Engineeringfields.
