A previous researcher, Yasar, used an iterativemethod in his development of a survey to assess K-12 teachers’ perceptions of engineers andfamiliarity with teaching design, engineering, and technology.2 However, Yasar’s participantswere all pre-college level students and professionals. This process consisted of a literature searchto find items for the survey and multiple field tests and revisions to come to the final surveyinstrument.  they could have asked or observed. 2. Multidisciplinary Experiential Learning ECE students and CJ students rarely get to work on joint course projects. In fact, to the best of our knowledge, we are not aware of these two disciplines working together in the context of educational settings. Here, ECE and CJ students worked together in two ways. First, once the CJ students designed the interview questions, they practiced these questions on ECE graduate students to become more familiar with how the grid worked, whether their questions made sense, and used any feedback to revise their question set. Second, during the joint exercise, CJ and ECE students had conversations about strategies for securing the grid and maintaining operations. CJ students

Unlike the former approach, the latter,referred to as the Social Impact Approach is particularly beneficial in forcing the students tothink about the ethical problems related to products that exist but are not yet available. Thisremoves the hind sight perspective present when examining past cases.From a practical viewpoint, a basic knowledge of professional ethics is required in order to passthe examinations required for licensure.
