She is currently a special education teacher in the Clarence Central School District. Abigail works as a special education consultant teacher for second and fifth grade. Many of Abigail’s daily roles include front loading her students on lessons that they will later see in their mainstream classrooms. She has become an expert in this field and has been involved in efforts to modify the elementary age front loading technique to other age groups of learners.Dr. Brian Scott Rice, Rochester Institute of Technology Dr. Brian S. The coursegoal(s) are stated as follows. Students will: 1. Identify the key knowledge, skills andabilities (KSAs) required for engineering success in the 21st century, 2. Explore relevantprofessional and technical topics, 3. Evaluate their own individual strengths andweaknesses relative to qualities demanded of future engineers, and 4. The author ismore convinced now than ever, that classroom reformation, including deployment of activelearning strategies, would happen only if the institution mandates it!The Pros and Cons of the Lecture FormatWhen asked why he/she lectures, one faculty responded: “It is a tradition. It was part of mytraining, and seems to dwell in me and seems like what I should be doing. I feel guilty when Iam not lecturing” (13). This candid statement suggests one of the great dilemmas faced by allwho teach at the postsecondary

increase in the engagementratings for each of the four different presentation formats associated with the percentage of livewebinars a had student participated in. That means an increase in webinar participation wasassociated with an increase in their engagement ratings. Framed in the negative perspective, there was a decrease in the engagement ratings associated with a decrease in the number ofwebinars a student participated in. This study cannot deduce a causative relationship betweenwhether a student was disengaged because they did not (or could not) participate in a livewebinar, or did whether they chose to not participate in a live webinar because they weregenerally a disengaged learner, or if it was due to some other causal factor(s) (Lumgair

Most students were able to identify potential moral or ethicalproblems and were also able to draw appropriate connections between personal morals, the Codeof Ethics for Engineers, and the situations described in the cases. Not surprisingly, studentsoften took strong positions surrounding the central issue(s) in the cases. The main difficultystudents had with was articulating a counter perspective when they perceived a clear ethicalproblem. The papers were evaluated using a scoring rubric in which points were awarded for addressingthe guiding questions (10 points), quality of writing (5 points), and how well they justified theirfinal position on the case (5 points). The summary from Part 1 was evaluated against the guidingquestions and
