While the idealistic educationalsetting with a one-to-one student teacher ratio is unheard of in the modern classroom, the conceptcan be applied to modern instruction.A portion of the online homework discussed here was structured for scaffolded instruction.Those homework problems covered two methods of analysis: mesh and nodal analysis. Theorderly approach to these methods of circuit analysis are taught explicitly in lecture and arereflected in the online homework as a means of reinforcement. The studyaddresses two topics: (1) mastering different levels of knowledge with the help of simulations,and (2) honing new simulation skills. The course has a weekly lab session where studentsperform various materials testing such as tensile, shear, bending, and impact. ProjectsAbstractStudents in computer science, software engineering, and related disciplines must master a broadrange of technical knowledge, skills, tools, and processes. They must also learn to navigate,understand, and contribute to real-world code, documentation, and diverse communities ofdevelopers, users, and other stakeholders. In atraditional grading scheme, the course grade is determined based on scores of individualassignments and exams, but in standards-based grading, the course grade is based on how manystandards, or learning outcomes, the student has mastered.
